Project / beam setup
Continuous beam
Internal column lines are modelled as simple vertical supports. The left and right beam ends can be set to free, simple or fixed.
Span
Length (m)
Spring support settings
0% behaves like a free end vertically. 100% behaves close to a stiff support.
Section selection
Enter section dimensions and the app will derive the section properties automatically.
Include section self‑weight as full-span G UDL
Loads
Beam load input
Loads are entered by load case using x positions measured from the left end of the beam.
Uniform loads
Point loads
Moment loads
Trapezoidal loads
Axial force
Positive = compression. Uses the same input units and active G/Q tab as the other loads.
Column / buckling interaction (compression only)
When N,Ed is compression, the app adds member buckling resistance and major-axis interaction checks.
Units / assumptions
Linear elastic beam analysis using an Euler-Bernoulli beam stiffness model. Positive load inputs are downward. Current input units: point loads in metric tonnes and UDL in t/m.
Stability / LTB
Check lateral torsional buckling
Supports / stiffeners
